Bald like me!

Well, you can only imagine my excitement when Britney decided that she wanted to look more like me! Having been bald my whole life, I feel that I have a few things to share with Britney regarding baldness!

Here is my favourite bedtime story about a girl who became bald:

There once was a girl who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today!" So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?" So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head. "Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

"Yea!!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

One of Mommy's favourite musicians, Ani DiFranco, used to be bald too. Ani has sung about how some people have treated her and her bald friends. I have also experienced some harsh challenges due to my lack of hair. Britney, being bald is great but you will have to accept that there will be haters.

they say goldfish have no memory
i guess their lives are much like mine
and the little plastic castle
is a surprise every time
and it's hard to say if they're happy
but they don't seem much to mind

from the shape of your shaved head
i recognized your silhouette
as you walked out of the sun and sat down
and the sight of your sleepy smile
eclipsed all the other people
as they paused to sneer at the two girls
from out of town

i said, look at you this morning
you are, by far, the cutest
but be careful getting coffee
i think these people wanna shoot us
or maybe there's some kinda local competition here
to see who can be the rudest
